Do it yourself: christmas wreath making

A beautiful self-made pine cone wreath for your table

The perfect addition to our already very beautiful wreath of pine cones is a homemade wreath as a centerpiece on the table.
A basic wreath of pine cones on a round wire frame is made quickly.
The wreath can be very easily decorated further with mini baubles, dried flowers or a cute birdhouse, as on our design.

Supplies:

  • Wire frame 30 cm round
  • Pine cones small and medium, about 50-60 pieces
  • Jute strap/ natural twine
  • Iron wire or glue gun
  • Squeeze pliers
  • Optional green twigs (holly, pine twigs, etc.)

procedure:

  • First place the pine cones on a piece of alfoil on a baking sheet for 20-30 min in the oven at 160 degrees. This is to open them and be able to clean them.
  • When cooled, wrap the jute strap/twine around a section of the frame and make a knot at the end. Repeat until the wreath frame is covered with twine.
  • Attach the pine cones to the wire frame with iron wire or a glue gun.
  • Spread the larger pine cones more over the top of the wreath, creating height when the wreath is lying.
  • Sprinkle some powder snow over the ends of the pine cones for a wintry look!

Tip: put our large candle in the middle of the wreath or wrap Christmas lights around the wreath for extra atmosphere on the table!
